AGR developed an approach to waste reduction, recycling, and solid waste planning for Orange County, and the towns of Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Hillsborough. After meeting individually with nearly two dozen government, business, and civic leaders, we recommended how this community, which had already exceeded its previous recycling goal, could move forward over the next ten years.
AGR assisted the first consolidated City-County Government in Georgia to update plans for its robust solid waste system. Some of the most important goals for Columbus: to extend the life of the MSW landfill; to capitalize on its state-of-the art Recycling and Sustainability Center; and to streamline collection program.
AGR was part of a team updating Tennessee's Solid Waste and Materials Management Plan. With input from nearly a dozen public meetings, we developed goals and objectives to shift the state away from disposal and toward materials management. AGR created an interactive online road map for implementation for the state to use in its annual budgeting and planning process.
